Indian nationals enjoy freedom of movement in Nepal due to special bilateral agreements. Indian citizens may enter Nepal using either a Voter ID card with a photograph or an Indian Passport. They can enter by air or land. Under the terms of the 1950 Indo-Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship, Indian citizens may live and work freely in Nepal.
