Indian passport holders normally require a Costa Rican visa. A current multiple-entry US or Canadian visa can exempt you, with at least one calendar day remaining on arrival; standalone US C1, C2 and C3 transit visas are excluded, while D and C1/D qualify. The initial stay is up to 30 days and cannot exceed the supporting visa's validity. An Indian passport needs 180 days' validity, plus onward travel and sufficient funds. Multiple-entry Schengen C or D exemptions also exist, but confirm the exact document with the consulate: published guidance has inconsistent duration wording and an outdated issuing-country list.
