Indian passport holders can currently enter Sri Lanka visa-free for a stay of up to 30 days. This free visa scheme was initially a pilot program starting October 1, 2024, and has been extended until further notice by the Sri Lankan government. Requirements for visa-free entry: passport valid for 6 months from arrival date with at least one blank page, confirmed hotel booking/accommodation, proof of financial capacity, and return/onward ticket. Note: This policy may change, so check official sources before travel. When visa is required: eTA/eVisa (free for tourist and business visas on official website), allows stay of up to 30 days, valid for 6 months, processing time 24-72 hours.
