- • Japan eVisa issuance started in India on 1 April 2024
- • E-Visa is ONLY for single-entry tourism (up to 90 days)
- • For other purposes (visiting relatives, business, work, study), must apply on paper at Japanese embassy
- • Holding US/UK/Schengen visa does NOT waive Japan visa requirement for Indians
- • Japan abolished its transit-visa category from 1 July 2026; this does not grant permission to enter Japan during a connection
