- • For ordinary Indian tourists the baseline is an eVisa. Since September 2026, a separate exemption permits up to 30 days with a valid multiple-entry business or tourist visa from Australia, the US, UK, Canada, South Korea, a Schengen state, New Zealand or Japan, plus an air ticket to India or a third country. The stay must remain within that supporting visa’s validity.
- • The eVisa’s 90-day issue validity is separate from its 30-day stay window. For double or multiple entry, count that window from first entry.
- • Five-day visa-free transit is a separate route through international airports, with a ticket to a third country. Official airline wording differs: the regulation and Indian embassy require a carrier that informs border authorities; the MFA overview names Uzbekistan Airways. Confirm your exact itinerary with the embassy and airline before relying on transit exemption.
