Indian ordinary-passport holders can use Tanzania’s eVisa or visa-on-arrival route. Immigration recommends applying online; wait for approval before travel on that route. Additional inbound insurance depends on first entry: NIC for mainland Tanzania, ZIC for Zanzibar, subject to the exceptions below. Check the route-specific health rules below.

- Yellow-fever proof is route-dependent. Arrivals from risk countries require it; confirm risk-country connections, especially around 12 hours

Important Notes
- • One Tanzanian visa can cover mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar; select your first destination in the application
- • Zanzibar-first visitors who are non-residents use ZIC. From 1 October 2026, mainland-first foreign visitors use NIC, except residents of EAC or SADC partner states. Published adult cover costs US$44 for up to 92 days; insurance does not extend your immigration stay
- • Yellow-fever vaccination is not a blanket requirement for every traveller. Official notices differ on risk-country transit details; confirm your full route with port health before travel
- • Current Immigration guidance lists US$50 ordinary tourist visas, but Delhi’s embassy fee table lists a different category for Indians. Confirm the live portal category and fee
- • The Ministry of Finance says the insurer you purchased from provides emergency services throughout the United Republic, subject to your policy terms. NIC says to obtain cover before arrival but also lists purchase at entry points; arrange cover before travel and confirm any arrival-purchase arrangements with NIC
